Welcome!
I am a PhD student in cognitive psychology with special interest in translational cognitive neuroscience.
My research concerns ADHD and other individual differences in cognition.
Specific questions I investigate include:
- Do people with ADHD have special cognitive strengths, such as enhanced creativity or faster long-term memory retrieval? What in the brain explains these strengths?
- Could what we currently call ADHD actually be two separate phenomena with different causes?
- How do lifelong individual differences in cognitive abilities interact with aging and other cognitive health factors?
- What causes individuals to have differing cognitive ability profiles?
I focus on fMRI analysis methods for their potential to advance our understanding of cognitive individuality and the development of personalized cognitive medicine. My research also relies on psychometric, computational modeling and survey methods.
As an experienced senior software engineer in genomics and neuroscience research contexts, I find that my professional and academic computer science background offers much to draw on.
